Introducing: The Chicago Fish Taco

Chicago Fish Tacos

Some ideas are just meant to be wrapped in a tortilla. This is one of them.

Introducing: the Chicago Fish Taco.
We took everything that makes a true Chicago-style hot dog iconic: mustard, relish, tomato, onion, peppers, pickles, and celery salt, gave it our own unique twist, and paired it with crispy, golden fried fish. Then we did what any self-respecting beachside Mexican joint would do: we made it a taco.

The result? Bold. Crunchy. Bright. Unapologetically Chicago.

Let’s break it down:

Crispy fried fish: golden, flaky beer-battered cod

Yellow mustard crema: tangy, classic, essential, but with a creamy edge

Pickle pico:  because Chicago doesn’t do subtle. Pickle relish, fresh onions, tomato, all the good stuff.

Hot peppers: for that signature kick.

Shredded cabbage: ok, ok... this one is not a classic Chicago dog ingredient, but trust us, it works really well on these tacos.

A shake of celery salt: the finishing touch. No ketchup: obviously.

Why did we do this?
Because Chicago summer deserves something bold. Something unique. Because crispy fish and Chicago dog toppings go together better than anyone expected. And because we love giving street food its moment in the spotlight, with a Burrito Beach twist.

Where can you get it?
Exclusively at:

North Ave

Ohio Street

UChicago Medicine

And only during July. After that, it’s gone, like a parking spot at the lake on a Saturday morning.

So, don't sleep on this one!

Warning: may cause spontaneous civic pride and heated debates about hot dog etiquette.
